Tronic 6 Way Extension with Smart Protect

Our review

This is a six-way extension cord from Tronic, sold under the name Tronic 6 Way Extension with Smart Protect. In plain terms, it is a length of flexible electrical cable with a plug on one end and six sockets on the other, so you can run several devices from a single wall outlet. The Smart Protect wording in the name suggests the product is positioned around protection circuitry, but no further detail is given here, so treat that as something to verify on the listing rather than assume. It suits anyone who needs more outlets than a wall socket provides, such as a desk setup with a computer, monitor, charger and lamp, or a living area with a TV, decoder and router. Before buying, check the plug type matches your wall sockets, confirm the cable length is enough to reach where you need it, and look at the maximum load the extension is rated for so you do not overload it with high-power appliances like kettles or heaters. Compare it with basic extensions that have no protection feature, and with surge-protected strips if you have sensitive electronics. Also weigh the number of sockets against your actual needs, since a six-way unit takes up more space than a four-way one. Available on Sokonia.
