Tronic Measuring Tape, 5 Meter, Black and Red Bakelite Case

Our review

This is a five-metre retractable tape from Tronic, built around a black and red Bakelite case. The blade is 19mm wide, which gives it a bit more stiffness than narrow tapes when you extend it alone. The end hook is designed to slide by its own thickness, so inside and outside measurements read correctly without you doing mental arithmetic. It suits carpenters, tailors working on larger pieces, electricians, and anyone measuring rooms, timber or fabric. Before buying, think about length and blade width: five metres covers most household and workshop jobs, but long runs may need a longer tape, and a wider blade helps with reach. Compare against basic tapes on hook play and case durability. A one-year warranty is stated, and it is available on Sokonia.
