Hisense H910CFS 701L Double Door Chest Freezer, Titanium Silver

Our review

This Hisense chest freezer is built around one clear idea: very large frozen storage. At 701 litres, it sits at the top end of what you would typically consider for a home, and it is more naturally suited to a restaurant kitchen, a food business, or a household that buys and stores in serious bulk. The double door layout is worth thinking about carefully. On a freezer this wide, two lids mean you open only part of the unit at a time, which can help limit cold air loss compared with lifting one very large single lid. Before buying, measure the floor space and the clearance you need to open the doors fully, and check the doorway or stairwell it has to pass through, since a unit of this size is difficult to move once positioned. Also think about where it will sit, because a freezer this large needs ventilation around it and a power point you can reach without running a cable across a walkway. Compared with upright freezers of similar capacity, a chest design generally gives you more usable volume for the same footprint and tends to hold temperature better when opened, but it is harder to organise and you have to bend and reach down to find items. Uprights are easier to browse and fit into tighter spaces. If you need to keep large quantities frozen and have the room, the capacity here is the main argument. If you want easy access and a smaller footprint, an upright may suit you better. Available on Sokonia.
