CKE WG-822K Commercial Electric Griddle, 4.4kW, 728mm Ribbed Surface

Our review

This is a countertop electric griddle built for commercial kitchens rather than home use. The 4.4kW element and 728mm ribbed cooking surface point to a machine meant for steady, high-volume output, and the full grooved plate is designed to channel fat away from food as it cooks, which suits kitchens leaning towards healthier grilling and cleaner plating. It will make most sense to restaurants, hotels, cafés and catering operations that already have the counter space and electrical capacity for a unit of this size. Before buying, check your power supply can handle the draw, confirm the 728mm width fits your line, and think about how the ribbed surface compares with a flat plate: grooves give you those sear marks and better drainage, but flat griddles are easier to clean and better for eggs, pancakes and sauces. Also weigh this against smaller domestic-style griddles and gas alternatives, since fuel type, running costs and ventilation needs differ. Available on Sokonia.
