Frigidaire FD9010 Rice Cooker & Steamer, 1L Non-Stick, 400W

Our review

This is a compact electric cooker from Frigidaire with a 1L non-stick pot and a 400W element, sold as both a rice cooker and a steamer. It is aimed at people who want grains ready without watching a pot: you add ingredients, switch it on, and let it work, which suits singles, couples and small households more than large families. Before buying, think about how much cooked rice you actually need at once, since a 1L pot fills quickly, and check whether the non-stick inner pot and any steaming accessory are the parts you will use most. Compared with stovetop cooking or a basic pot with a lid, you are paying for convenience and consistent results rather than speed. Compare it with larger multi-cup cookers if you batch cook, or with simple steamers if rice is not your main grain.
