Kenwood STP01.000WB Steam Iron, 1100W, 130ml Tank

Our review

This Kenwood iron pairs a 1,100-watt element with a 130ml water tank, so it can run on steam for a reasonable stretch before you refill it. The ceramic non-stick soleplate is the part that touches your fabric, and it is worth keeping clean and free of scorch marks so it glides smoothly. A steam adjustment selector lets you dial steam up or down, while the spray function helps on stubborn creases and the dry setting handles fabrics you would rather not steam. Automatic temperature technology is the standout claim here, since it removes some of the guesswork about matching heat to a garment. It suits households ironing shirts, trousers and everyday cotton or linen in batches, and anyone who finds manual heat dials fiddly. Before buying, compare tank size with how much you iron at once, check whether the soleplate shape reaches between buttons and collars, and weigh the cord length against where your board sits. If you mostly press delicate fabrics, a lower-wattage model with finer heat control may serve you better. Available on Sokonia.
