Ingco GDW65001 Diesel Generator & Welding Machine, 4.6kW Single Phase

Our review

This Ingco unit combines a 4.6kW single-phase generator with a welding machine, driven by a 9.0HP air-cooled diesel engine of 418ml displacement running at 3000rpm. It produces 220-240V at 50Hz and starts either by recoil or electric, with a 15-litre fuel tank and a 30AH battery for the electric start. The copper coil alternator is worth noting if you plan to run tools or appliances that are sensitive to output quality.
It suits someone who needs both backup power and on-site welding from one machine, such as a workshop, farm or small contractor working away from mains supply. Before buying, think about how much load you will actually run at once, since welding and powering other equipment together adds up quickly. Also confirm the single-phase output matches your tools, and plan for diesel storage and servicing.
Compare it with a standalone generator plus a separate welder, which gives more flexibility but takes more space and money, or with a petrol generator, which is usually lighter and quieter but thirstier under load. Check the alternator type and starting system on any alternative, as these affect what you can run and how easy it is to start cold.
