Ingco Insulated Combination Pliers 7″ 180mm HICP01180

Our review

These are combination pliers from Ingco, sized at 7 inches or 180mm, with a satin finish and insulated handles. The insulation is the headline detail: the handles are described as standing high pressure and tested to 10000V, which is the kind of claim that matters if you work near live wiring or want a layer of protection between your hand and the metal. Combination pliers themselves are the generalist of hand tools, combining a gripping jaw with a cutting edge, so they suit electricians, technicians, and anyone doing installation or repair work where one tool needs to grab, twist, and cut. Before buying, think about the size you actually need. A 7-inch pair sits in the middle of the range: small enough to reach into tighter spaces, large enough to apply decent leverage on stubborn wire or small nuts. If most of your work is delicate electronics, a smaller pair may serve you better; if you are cutting thick cable or working on heavier fittings, a larger pair will give you more force. Also consider whether you want a plain satin finish or a polished one, and whether the insulated grips feel comfortable in your hand for long sessions. Compare against other insulated pliers by checking the voltage rating, the jaw and cutter geometry, and how the handles are bonded to the metal, since that is where cheap insulation tends to fail. Ingco is a widely recognised brand in this segment, so the model number HICP01180 is worth noting if you want to compare the exact tool against similar options. The pliers come packed on a PP hanger, which is a small detail but useful if you plan to hang them on a pegboard or display rack. If you already own a basic uninsulated pair, this is the upgrade to consider when safety around electrical work is part of the job.
