Ingco 15mm Socket Spanner, 1/2″ Drive, 6-Point, Black Nickel

Our review

This is a single 15mm socket from Ingco, built for 1/2-inch drive tools. The six-point broach grips flat sides of a fastener rather than corners, which suits hex bolts and nuts that are already in good shape. Black nickel plating and heat treatment are the two finish details Ingco lists, and both point to a socket meant for repeated hand-tool use rather than occasional odd jobs. It suits a mechanic or home workshop owner who already runs 1/2-inch ratchets, bars or impact drivers and needs to fill a gap in a set. Before buying, confirm your drive size is 1/2 inch, since a 3/8-inch ratchet will not fit it, and check whether you need a six-point or twelve-point socket for the fasteners you work on. Compare against other 15mm sockets on chrome vanadium steel, wall thickness and whether the plating resists rust in humid conditions. If you want a full range of sizes, a set usually costs less per piece than singles. This one is available on Sokonia.
