Ingco HDMW23 Digital Measuring Wheel, 99999.9m Metric & Inch

Our review

This is a rolling measuring wheel for distances you would rather not pace out or fight with a tape. The Ingco HDMW23 shows readings on a digital display with 0.1m resolution and a stated tolerance under 0.5%, and it can work in either metric or inch, so surveyors, estate agents, fencing and paving crews, and anyone laying out land or long runs can pick the unit that matches their drawings. It stores readings in memory, runs on two LR3 batteries, and comes with a stand, which helps when you pause to note a figure. Before buying, think about the ground you will roll over: a wheel like this suits firm, fairly even surfaces, while rough bush or steep slopes will test accuracy. Compare it with basic mechanical counters, which need no batteries but are slower to read, and with laser distance meters, which are quicker on short indoor spans but struggle over long outdoor distances. Check the wheel diameter and battery type against how you plan to use it.
