Ingco Flat Wood File 200mm (8″) HWFF088

Our review

This is a flat wood file from Ingco, measuring 200mm, or 8 inches, in length and supplied in a poly bag. A flat file like this is the general-purpose choice for shaping and smoothing wood, cleaning up edges, and easing sharp corners after a saw cut. It suits carpenters, furniture makers, and anyone doing regular woodwork who wants a straightforward hand tool rather than a full set. Before buying, think about the cut you need, since files come in different grades, and check the length suits the work you do; 200mm is a handy middle size for bench work. Compare it with half-round or rasp alternatives if you shape curves, and with longer files if you flatten large surfaces. Ingco is a widely recognised tool brand, so it is a reasonable pick if you want a familiar name without overthinking it. It is available on Sokonia.
