Tronic 13A Single Switch Socket with Neon Indicator, Ivory

Our review

This is a single 13A switched socket from Tronic, finished in ivory with a neon indicator built into the switch. The neon light is the detail worth noting: it gives you a visible cue when the socket is live, which is handy for sockets that sit behind furniture or in rooms where you want a quick visual check before plugging something in. The casing is polycarbonate, a material chosen for its toughness, and the face has a screwless finish with smooth edges over a metal plate, so it is aimed at buyers who want a socket that looks tidy rather than purely functional.
It suits anyone replacing a worn socket in a home, rental or small office, and it works well where a clean, flat face matters, such as a visible wall in a living room or bedroom. Before buying, check the wiring in your wall matches a 13A single socket layout and that the back box depth and fixing centres suit your existing installation; if you are unsure, have a qualified electrician confirm. Compare it with other single switched sockets by looking at the finish, whether they include a neon indicator, and the face material, since those are the differences you will actually notice day to day. It is available on Sokonia.
