Tronic IP55 Outdoor Double Switch Socket, 13A 2 Gang

Our review

This is a two-gang, 13A socket from Tronic with an IP55-rated housing, which means it is built to keep out dust and water splashes when installed in exposed spots. It suits anyone who needs a power point outside the house rather than running an extension lead through a door or window: gardens, workshops, garages and exterior walls are the obvious places for it. The double switch layout lets each outlet be controlled separately, which is handy if you want one circuit live and the other off. Before buying, check the rating of the circuit you plan to connect it to and confirm the cable entry and mounting position suit your wall, since no further specifications are listed here. Compare it with other outdoor sockets on how well their enclosures are sealed and whether they offer one or two gangs, as those are the differences that matter most in wet or dusty conditions. It is available on Sokonia.
