Tronic MR16 Halogen Bulb, 50W Reflector Lamp

Our review

This is a Tronic MR16 halogen bulb rated at 50 watts. MR16 reflectors are the small, faceted lamps used where light needs to be aimed rather than spread evenly, so they turn up in spotlights, floodlight fittings, work lights, under-cabinet strips and even car headlamps. If you are replacing a failed lamp in one of those fittings, this is the type to look at. Before ordering, check your fixture's lamp holder and the rating it accepts, since MR16 lamps come in different wattages and the fitting usually states its limit. Also confirm the pin configuration and voltage your fixture expects, because MR16 lamps are not interchangeable across every socket. Compared with standard incandescent reflectors, halogen versions like this are generally the more effective choice, which is why they remain common in directed-lighting setups. If you want a longer-lasting or cooler-running option, compare against LED MR16 lamps, which trade some of the halogen look for lower running costs. Available on Sokonia.
