Tronic RJ45 FTP Connector for Ethernet Cable
TSh 1,000
Our review
This Tronic RJ45 FTP connector is the plug you fit to the end of a foil twisted pair Ethernet cable. FTP means the pairs sit inside a foil screen, so the connector is intended for shielded cable rather than the ordinary unshielded kind. It suits anyone terminating or repairing a run of FTP network cable, whether in an office, a workshop or a home where interference is a concern.
Before buying, check two things. First, confirm your cable is genuinely foil twisted pair; a shielded plug on unshielded cable gains you nothing. Second, check the conductor type and overall cable diameter, because stranded and solid cores, and different jacket thicknesses, can affect how well a plug closes. Compare against unshielded RJ45 plugs, which are cheaper and easier to fit but offer no screening, and against pre-made patch leads if you only need a short run. Available on Sokonia.
