Tronic Sodium Fitting Street Lantern 250W
TSh 296,500
Our review
This is a 250-watt sodium street lantern from Tronic, supplied as a fitting rather than a complete lighting scheme. Sodium lamps of this class are the older workhorse of road and yard lighting, and they remain common where a warm amber glow and long-established fixtures are already in place. It suits someone replacing a failed sodium lantern on an existing installation, or lighting a compound, car park or access road where matching the current setup matters more than starting fresh.
Before buying, check the lamp holder type, the ballast and control gear your installation uses, and the mounting arrangement, because a fitting alone will not light anything without compatible gear and a lamp. Also confirm the voltage and whether your existing wiring suits a sodium load.
The description notes that LED street lights are more directional and render colour more naturally than sodium. That is the real comparison here: sodium gives a warm, limited-spectrum light, while LED gives whiter light and better colour recognition. If colour accuracy and lower running costs matter, compare LED options; if you are maintaining an existing sodium system, this fitting keeps things consistent. Available on Sokonia.
