Tronic StepDown Transformer 5000VA 230V to 110V ST 5000-230-110
TSh 375,000
Our review
This Tronic unit is a step-down transformer rated at 5000VA, taking 230V input and delivering 110V output, which is the voltage many appliances from North America and Japan expect. It suits someone running a single high-draw 110V appliance, or a few smaller ones, from Tanzanian mains. Before buying, add up the wattage of everything you plan to connect and leave headroom, since a transformer running near its limit gets hot and shortens its own life. Compare alternatives by continuous versus peak rating, whether you need isolation, and how you will handle plugs. Note the listing's description text appears to belong to an iron, so confirm the actual transformer details with the seller on Sokonia before ordering.
