Tronic Utility Knife with Retractable Blade

Our review

The Tronic Utility Knife is a straightforward cutting tool built around a retractable blade, which means the cutting edge can be drawn back into the handle when it is not in use. Tronic describes it as giving the necessary cutting control, and the blade door releases with a push button so blade changes can be done quickly and simply. It is also described as easy to maintain clean, which matters for a tool that will pick up dust, tape residue and debris.
This kind of knife suits someone who needs a compact cutting tool for everyday tasks around the home, office, workshop or store — opening cartons, trimming material, breaking down packaging. It is a practical pick if you want something simple rather than a specialised craft blade.
Before buying, think about the blades you can get locally, since a utility knife is only as useful as its replacement blades, and check whether the handle shape and size feel right for your hand. Compare it with fixed-blade utility knives, which never need retracting but are less safe to store, and with snap-off knives, which give you a fresh edge without swapping blades. If quick blade changes and easy cleaning are what you want, this one is worth a look. Available on Sokonia.
