Tronic UV-A Electric Insect Killer Lamp, 36 Watts
TSh 124,000
Our review
This is a plug-in insect killer from Tronic that uses UV-A light to draw flying insects in, rated at 36 watts and described by the maker as reaching a 100% insect-killing rate. It is aimed at indoor spaces rather than gardens or open verandas, and the listed uses cover homes, restaurants, kitchens, cafes and hospitals, so it fits anywhere flies and mosquitoes are a daily nuisance around food, patients or guests. Before buying, think about the size of the room you need to cover and where you can mount or place a mains-powered unit so the light is not blocked. Compare it with zappers and traps of similar wattage on how they are cleaned, how loud they are, and whether they rely on light alone or an additional attractant. The malaria protection wording in the listing refers to reducing insects in the room, not to medical protection, so keep using nets and repellents as normal. It is available on Sokonia.
